Learning cloud in 2024 will be one of the great decisions. As in the upcoming time, this skill will be very demanding in the Tech industry.
All you need to first decide which cloud platform you want to get familiar with in the market, we have many cloud services but the most used cloud services are Amazon Web Services(AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud(GCP).
Overview of AWS, AZURE, GCP
AWS, Azure, and GCP are the biggest players in the cloud services market. But each one is unique with its own story. Before we get into the details of how they differ, let's first understand some basic information about each of them.
Amazon Web Services(AWS):
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a company by Amazon that provides cloud services. It started in 2006 and is now the top cloud provider globally, with a 32% market share in early 2023. AWS gives many services like computing, storage, networking, databases, analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. A lot of businesses, from small to big, use AWS for their needs.
Microsoft Azure:
Microsoft Azure, introduced by Microsoft Corporation in 2010, is the second-biggest cloud provider globally. It holds a 23% market share as of Q1 2023. Azure provides a variety of services, much like AWS, but it focuses on Windows-based computing and integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft services.
Google Cloud(GCP):
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) was created by Google in 2011 and is the third-largest global cloud provider, holding a 9% market share as of Q1 2023. GCP provides a variety of services, similar to AWS and Azure, but it has fewer data centers compared to AWS and Azure. GCP is known for offering solutions that are considered user-friendly for DevOps.
These are the most used cloud services that are been used nowadays you can choose any one of them and get mastery in at least one of these cloud platforms.
To get the fundamental knowledge of these cloud platforms or get an overview of the cloud ecosystem can do the following cloud certification in that particular cloud platform:
For Azure: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
For Google Cloud(GCP): Cloud Digital Leader
All learning from these certifications will give you an overview and also give you a hands-on experience with how the cloud works.
